A Environmental Signals 2001
Creator's Choice - the indicators as proposed by the EEA. This data set shows the trend between the years 1990 and 1998.
B EEA Dashboard: Policy Performance 90-98
The aggregated picture shows Germany "greener" than Portugal - perhaps because the latter country experiences, like Ireland, an economic boom. More wealth, less environment??
C EEA Dashboard: Driving forces 90-98
The trend is even clearer for the Driving Forces.
D EEA Dashboard: Pressures 90-98
On the Pressure side, Luxemburg has made even more progress than Germany. There are no further improvements in acidifying emissions, apparently, in Germany.
E EEA Dashboard: Sensitivity Analysis
"The choice of indicators affects the outcome". This could be a layman's interpretation of "Sensitivity Analysis", i.e. a systematic look at which factors influence the index. Portugal in green? No problem with the Dashboard's "design" function...!
F EEA Dashboard: Positive linkages
Linkages between the indicators are perhaps the most interesting application for the decision-maker!
G EEA Dashboard: Negative linkages
Sometimes there is a goal conflict: the Dashboard displays such linkages as red regression lines
