A all panes view: compare several countries
This view serves to give a quick comparison of several countries, or several years for the same Country. Sri Lanka scores 710 points for "SIDS Performance Index", or rank 2 among all 30 countries, which is considered "good".
B all panes view: detail for one country
This view serves to give a quick comparison of several countries, or several years for the same Country. Cape Verde scores 485 points for "SIDS Performance Index", or rank 35 among all 55 countries, which is considered "average".
C two-pane view: compare two countries
In this view, the panes are larger and show the full indicator names. See on the right the all panes view for the indicator "SIDS Performance Index". On the Y-axis, the number of points is shown, while the X-axis shows the respective rank. Cape Verde scores 527 points ("average"), or rank 156. In contrast, Maldives achieve 527 points ("bad") at rank 180.
D analysis view
The analytical view consists of two small panes plus a large window for analysis, which may be a distribution, scatterplot, time series or map view. In this example, the all panes view of the index "Millennium Development Goals" is shown; Sri Lanka scores 774 points. In comparison, Haiti arrives at 370 points (rank 166), which is considered "bad" (rank 1: Antigua and Barbuda, worst at rank 180: Niger; embedded mode, group: Islands).
E scatterplot
A simple scatterplot may reveal interesting insights. For example, how is "Economic Vulnerability Index" linked to other indicators, such as "Environmental Vulnerability Index"? Here, Papua New Guinea scores "good" for Economic Vulnerability Index (Y axis, 699 points) and "good" for Environmental Vulnerability Index (X axis, 751 points; exclusive mode, group: Islands).
F linkage analysis
A mouse click into the "recycling" icon provides a systematic analysis of the linkages between all indicators. For example, how is "Life expectancy at birth" linked to other indicators, such as "Environmental Vulnerability Index"? Here, Maldives scores "good" for Life expectancy at birth (Y axis, 750 points) and "very bad" for Environmental Vulnerability Index (X axis, 306 points; exclusive mode, group: Least DC+Islands).
