Does the Dashboard run under Macintosh, Unix, Linux & Co?

The Dashboard needs Windows, sorry - but any version will do, even Windows 3.1. However, this does not automatically exclude the Mac & Linux users, provided they run a suitable Windows substitute, like:

- for Linux:

VmWare Workstation 3.1 (tested, works fine but, as of May 2002, costs 299 US$!)
Win4Lin (tested, works fine but slower than VmWare, 89 US$)
WINE (tested in 1992, freeware, seems to run in principle but unfortunately gets blocked after installation - you may try Codeweaver)

- for Macintosh:

SoftWindows/RealPC (no idea if it works, costs 80 US$, plus Windows; Virtual PC definitely works fine, but it's expensive - around 200 US$)

Unfortunately, I have no regular access to Macintosh and Linux systems, so I cannot tell you whether there are problems with installing and running the Dashboard under these systems. Reports about successful or failed attempts to run the Dashboard are therefore highly welcome - please send me a mail. However, I can not help you to solve problems with the installation of Windows on Linux or Mac - as I wrote above, I have no access to such systems. And, no, it is definitely not possible to port the code from Windows and recompile it on Linux or Mac... believe me! I know it's a shame but the Dashboard is written in GFA Basic, and there is no such compiler on other systems.
