Are the UN CSD and the MDG indicator sets comparable?

In the following, the four clusters are presented and briefly compared. Minor differences in colour for identical indicators may result from a different number of countries in the respective dashboards, or from different levels of indicator smoothing.

The economic cluster of the CSD set: crowded and somewhat "environmental" The economic cluster of the MDG set: less crowded and more convincing for economists

The social cluster of the CSD set: again very crowded but less "environmental" than "economy" The social cluster of the MDG set: the focus is clearly on health issues

The environmental cluster of the CSD set: many indicators, and reasonably structured The environmental cluster of the MDG set: clearly weaker than the CSD set - not enough detail

The governance cluster of the CSD set: again, this set looks a bit "environmental" ... The governance cluster of the MDG set: governance was not foreseen in the MDGs, so put the relevant gender and education indicators here.
