The
report is the result of a joint effort by Istat and Statistics Sweden. The
different parts were drafted as follows: §§ 3.1, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, Annex
2 by Mara Cammarrota (Istat), §§ 1.1, 2.3, 3.2 by Cesare Costantino
(Istat), §§ 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 4, 5, 6, Annexes 1, 3, Table 1 and 2
by Ingegerd Fängström (Statistics Sweden).
The
project was developed jointly by Istat and Statistics Sweden, the former
focusing on the issues related to indicators, the latter on basic data.
The
“indicator” part was carried out by an Istat working group
co-ordinated by Cesare Costantino, Head of the Environmental Accounting Unit;
the other members of the group were Mara Cammarrota, researcher in the
Environment Statistics Methods and Development Unit, Carmine Pappalardo,
researcher in the Service Statistics Unit, and Carolina Ardi, external expert.
At
Statistics Sweden the main part of the work was carried out by Ingegerd
Fängström, from the Unit for Regional Planning and Natural Resources.
Financial assistance was provided by the Swedish Tourist Authority, which is
hereby gratefully acknowledged.
Assistance
kindly provided by international organisations such as the European Environment
Agency and the UNECE - as well as Eurostat, where valuable assistance was
received by the Unit of Tourist Statistics - was of great help for the
realisation of the “basic data” study. Useful inputs were also
received from the Swedish Environment Protection Agency.
